Mikki Sindhunata is a filmmaker and choreographer who works with emotion, rhythm, and physical expression. Her work lives in movement, timing, and layering, not in isolated stills or linear narratives.

The challenge was clear: how do you translate a cinematic, physical experience to a digital platform without reducing it to a portfolio? The website wasn’t to be an archive, but an experience.

Mikki’s work isn’t about individual projects, but about flow. Images don’t follow one another; they respond to one another. Movement isn’t an effect, but a carrier of meaning. Therefore, the website couldn’t function as a traditional showcase.

The core question lay in one fundamental question: What does it feel like to experience Mikki’s work, even before you understand it? That experience had to be the starting point for every design decision.

Movement as Structure. Animation isn’t added for show, but used as a narrative tool. Transitions, scrolling, and timing follow the same rhythm as Mikki’s films.

Movement guides the user, slowing down when necessary and accelerating where tension arises. The interface behaves like a choreography, not a UI.
